The response was hardly a detailed factual summary as Steve promised. This has been incredibly poorly handled and the lack of a substantive response to the underlying censorship event really troubles me.

Don,

You're not wrong... it's just a matter of semantics.  The Section Manager is not "the ARRL."  You are.  I am.  WE are!  I'm just an ARRL member like you.  The Section Manager is no more "the ARRL" than you or I.

Like any other entity, there has be to some management and organization.  That's why we elect a section manager to represent us.

This situation begs the question in each of us members in the North Texas Section:  Did our section manager represent us and our best interest?

We waiting until Thursday for this! I will be writing ARRL about this matter and my displeasure of you has a section manager. I am a newer member of the ARRL and this section and what I have seen and heard of you being the section manager have left a very displeasure of the ARRL. It took over 20 years for me to give the ARRL a chance after the things I had heard in the past. You have just proved that they were correct and maybe the ARRL has lived out its life and needs to be replaced. Just like you need to be replaced.
You seem to think this is you personal sandbox and no one can have an opinion if they are the same has yours. You really should do the NTX section a favor and step down and go back to your own personal sandbox and play by yourself.

With that I will step down off on soapbox. This is the first time I have ever voiced my opinion publicly and any issue. Steve you have really left a bitter taste for the ARRL with me.

Tomorrow is Wednesday, which means it's time for Winlink Wednesday!

The instructions for this week's Winlink Wednesday are as follows:

Use the same template when checking in.  As a reminder, to use the template, when the New Message screen is opened, click on the menu items Select Template --> Standard Templates --> GENERAL Forms --> Winlink Check In.txt. If you do not find the template, you may have an older version of the templates. You can find the download from the Winlink.org web site. The instructions are in the ReadMe.txt file.

Make sure in the Send To box to put my call sign, KF5VO.

In the location box, put the name of your city/town, and which gateway you're connecting through (if known).

In the Comment Box, you can put what ever comment you'd like.

Spread the word about Winlink Wednesday. This net is open to anyone with a Winlink account (which is free for licensed amateurs).

That's it! Hope to see you check in tomorrow!

Re: What is going on in the ARRL NTX Section and why have we not heard from you (the Section Manager)

Jerry A. Goodson W5BFF <hydrashok407@...>

Until Thursday?  It didn't take me that long to spell out all of the facts, to include screenshots and copying/pasting emails in a web format of all of the facts!

Here are the simple facts:  you censored a valid and relevant post concerning a candidate you openly opposed in the ARRL North Texas group facebook page... a place where discussions concerning our leadership are valid.  Then, when I tried to discuss it with you, you refused to take my calls.  You took a hard stance on addressing and correcting your action, so I made your actions public in the link posted above.

I, as your assistant section manager, heard NOTHING from you for two days.  When I did hear from you, it was a request to turn over all control of all NTX accounts to the SEC... which I complied.  However, there were STILL no communications from you regarding the issues presented to you.

I warned you this was a can of worms that you didn't want to open.  You called me on my warning, and I followed through.  You made a mistake.  Just own it, and move on.  It's easy to be a leader when things are going smooth.  It's these kinds of trials that will show what kind of leader you really are.  There are already calls for your resignation... which I believe to be a little extreme.  You have a real shot at redemption here, but the question is will your arrogance allow for it?

It's also important to note that the admin logs showed no personal information was accessed.  Someone messed with the "SM" account by renaming it, but that's all they did.
