Count me among the group tired of the childish behavior by Steve. Come on; grow up. Before this I was seeing signs that you were the wrong person to have the section leadership. This confirms it. If anyone ought to resign it’s you Steve. David Poole K5DPP 8179804254 cell

I am attempting to format a detailed fact based statement which will allow everyone involved to reach their own conclusions. Please give me tell Thursday evening to get all facts spelled out and for each of you to evaluate I am sure FB is blowing up as well as my phone and personal email in box has been My action on notifying everyone about the Breech of Passwords was to err on the side of each member being informed. Thank you all for the concerns Steve KG5VK

What? No, I didn't resign. You fired me in the most back-handed passive aggressive way possible. You refused to take my calls, wouldn't respond to my text messages, and refused to otherwise address the issues that you were faced with. I did NOT resign. If you want to work things out, you still have my email address. You still have my phone number. You have all the access. You have all the control. The ball is in your court. What you can NOT do, however, is dictate my thoughts or intentions. If you want to fire me, then grow a pair and do so. -=Jerry=- W5BFF

Greg,
It's also important to note that the admin logs showed no personal information was accessed. Someone messed with the "SM" account by renaming it, but that's all they did.
The section manager's warning was reasonable, but proven to be unnecessary. No personal information was accessed or compromised.

It's all been changed and locked down. The old information is completely irrelevant and useless.

Without Knowledge or Consent of the undersigned or other NTX officers The Administrative Login ID and user passwords for the ARRLNTX.org website were publicly posted on the Groups.io site last evening. We are working to re-establish security for the ARRLNTX.org website. Although we had no knowledge of the posting party's intent to expose both the ARRLNTX.org site and the private information of our NTX members, we apologize for any inconvenience you incur. If you use a login ID and password to access the ARRLNTX.org website, we strongly recommend you immediately login to the website and change your password. If that password is used for access to other websites, it would be prudent to also change your password for the other websites. As soon as we have re-established control over, and security for, the ARRLNTX.org website we will notify all of you by email. Thank you for your patience. Well. What a way to wake up! When I replied to the email last night, I purposely excluded Steve. I don't really care to communicate with him any longer. I changed my originating email account, as I don't feel it's appropriate to send emails from the official email account any longer. Then, I cleared the "Reply To" field, and typed "sec," intending to send it to Greg's official NTX email address (sec@...). After typing "sec," it auto-populated with the reflector address (section@arrlntx.groups.io), and I simply didn't pay attention to it. In my defense, I just came in from marching band practice... on a hot, muggy, asphalt parking lot. I was hot, tired, and dehydrated. I had to recover the twitter password and some nefarious individual messed with the NTX website admin log in. I was able to help Greg fix both this morning. Hopefully, I'm done with all of this. -=Jerry=- W5BFF

I voted for Steve because I thought we need a breath of fresh air. Smells kinda stinky now. I too would like to hear from him. I’m seriously thinking of leaving the group and for that matter, the ARRL. I have stuck it out through the high increases in the dues and not receiving what I believe we should be getting. As an ARRL VE Coordinator, W5YI is soon to be in my future and keep the money in Texas. If I do, Newington will hear why. Budd WB4J

I am extremely disappointed in our new Section Manager, Steve Lott (Smith), KG5VK for the manner in which he has handled this matter. One of the things mentioned in the election promises was transparency, but it appears that has not worked out so well. Pity.
Jerry Goodson did an excellent job of explaining what transpired with the removal of a notice posted by him to the section Facebook page concerning a possible candidate for WGD Director. Jerry made it clear he is not a fan of this possible candidate, nor was his posting to Facebook an endorsement. It was simply a news announcement. For the record, I am not a fan of this possible candidate for WGD Director either. According to Jerry, the Facebook posting was deleted by our SM.
After bringing this matter to the attention of the section, Jerry has been requested by Steve to transfer all admin data on the several NTX information outlets to the new SEC. Yet to date, not a word has been heard from Steve as to his side of the story. It would be most helpful to all to hear Steve’s side of the story.
Folks, it’s time to put petty differences aside and act like adults here. On the surface, the actions by our Section Manager appear to be very childish and not at all in keeping with the leadership ideals this section deserves.
This group (arrlntx.groups.io) is an excellent way to disseminate information to the entire section quickly and easily. I would ask that our SM use it to explain to all of us what is going on here. One sign of a good leader is to consider his/her actions in the light of day and if appropriate to change course. From where I sit a course correction would appear to be in order, and it is NOT to ask Jerry to send all passwords and login ID’s to Greg. In spite of the fact that I’m sure Jerry is delighted to effect the transfer.
Steve, this is a volunteer organization. It is not the military. You cannot simply issues orders and expect those working for you to blindly accept them and march on. Please tell us the “Rest of the Story”.

Candidate for WGD Director
Jerry A. Goodson W5BFF ARRLNTX ASM/ASEC <hydrashok407@...>
Folks, Alan Brown K5AB is running against West Gulf Division Director John Robert Stratton in the upcoming election. Our section manager doesn't support him, so he deleted the post I made on the NTX facebook group making that announcement. However, it's still relevant, so I'm sharing it with you here. (You can read all about the drama at http://www.jerrygoodson.me/elected-section-manager-to-dictator) #CanOfWorms Anyhow, Alan Brown has a website set up at: https://standforhamradio.com/ This isn't an endorsement of the candidate, it's just simply informing you that there is a candidate. -=Jerry A. Re: Winlink Wednesday
Tomorrow is Winlink Wednesday!
When I opened Winlink this morning, the message was displayed that a new version of the Winlink templates was available for download. The latest version of the templates is 1.0.98.0. It appears that the Winlink Check In template has been unaffected by any updates. It's always a good idea to have the latest version of the templates, so make sure you download them. We do have one user that is having difficulty using the templates. In trying to help him, it occurred to me that it could be an issue with the browser he is using. I thought this might lead to a good question for the week. Which browser are you using when the template opens? Put that in the comment section of the template. Spread the word about Winlink Wednesday. This net is open to anyone with a Winlink account (which is free for licensed amateurs). The instructions for this week's Winlink Wednesday are as follows: Use the same template when checking in. As a reminder, to use the template, when the New Message screen is opened, click on the menu items Select Template --> Standard Templates --> GENERAL Forms --> Winlink Check In.txt. If you do not find the template, you may have an older version of the templates. You can find the download from the Winlink.org web site. The instructions are in the ReadMe.txt file. Make sure in the Send To box to put my call sign, KF5VO. In the location box, put the name of your city/town, and which gateway you're connecting through. In the Comment Box, you can put what ever comment you'd like. Spread the word about Winlink Wednesday. This net is open to anyone with a Winlink account (which is free for licensed amateurs). That's it! Hope to see you check in tomorrow!

When I send the results this week, I will not keep it as Excel. That file was only 10kB in size. If you downloaded that over RF, now you have a good idea how long it takes to download even a tiny file. I'll send a smaller text file this week. That's it! Hope to see you check in tomorrow!

Re: Winlink Wednesday
In case you didn't get check-in to the last Winlink Wednesday day and wanted to know the results, here's the e-mail I sent out on Thursday.
This week, we have exactly twice as many check-ins as last week! Thank you all for those who have checked in a second time, and thank you all for the new check-ins. I have compiled the check-ins into a spreadsheet and have attached it. I've included the comments about station setup. The thought is to let you know how others are using Winlink, as well as maybe give ideas for those that do not have a complete station setup yet. It looks like we have stations from all over the north Texas region signing in. Help spread the word about the Winlink Wednesday net. Feel free to make an announcement on local information nets, social media, club meetings, or however you want to spread the word. If you would like to have me write a small blurb about it, just reach out to me and I would be more than happy to help. Just a note on the forms. If you are having trouble using the forms, make sure you have the latest forms and the latest version of Winlink Express downloaded. You can find both at the link below. Make sure to read the "Read Me" file. https://downloads.winlink.org/User%20Programs/ Thanks again, everyone! I look forward to next week's Winlink Wednesday. John Hill ~KF5VO
